In 1950, FIDI was founded to represent the interests of moving companies specializing in international removals. Over the last 50 years, FIDI has evolved from a European to a leading worldwide movers federation.
With its headquarters in Brussels, Belgium, FIDI works in line with its mission and vision in mind to provide high quality, value adding service to its affiliates - removal companies and to offer the customers a portal to a quality mover network. To date, the FIDI movers network comprises of over 500 international removal companies all accredited by the FIDI Accredited International Mover (FAIM) standard.
FIDI Associations
FIDI's current membership comprises of twenty-one associations that represent the professional international moving industry in their respective countries.
When a moving company joins FIDI, it automatically becomes a member of the FIDI association responsible for the region/country. In the case that no Association is present in the region, the moving company would become a member of the Association of Direct Affiliates (ADA).
The associations represent the affiliates and so are able to vote at the annual General Assembly on key policy decisions. The number of votes of each association is proportional to its size.
FIDI Affiliates
FIDI affiliates are international moving companies that, after earning FAIM accreditation, have been accepted into FIDI.
FIDI affiliates enjoy the benefits of FIDI membership; a network of quality moving companies, training, financial protection, information, a quality standard and plentiful networking opportunities.
